Foundation gives succour to persons living with disabilities

Kpakpando Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, has said it will give succour to persons living with disabilities as it turns 19.

The event will hold next Wednesday, with the theme: ‘Disability Inclusion in Nation Building’, at Rockview Hotel, Owerri in Imo State.

The foundation was established in 2006 by Senator Osita Izunaso, lawmaker representing Imo West.

Major event this year is medical outreach for persons living with disabilities.

Others are provision of motorised and manual wheelchairs, crutches to PWDs, generators, housing and vehicle donations, scholarship, advocacy and training.

Expected, among others, are Governor Hope Uzodimma, Yobe State Governor, Mala Buni, former Sports Minister, John Eno.

Since its establishment, the foundation has empowered 20,000 PWDs, with over 1,000 enjoying its scholarship schemes.
