Last month, the enemies of free-education, good roads and infrastructural development gathered like swarm of bees to inject yet another shameful practice of hijacking electoral materials meant for the conduct of A.P.C congress and lastly saturated Imolites with victory rumour. History is prophetic in that it asserts loudly that you cannot reach good ends through evil means, because the means represent the seed and the end represent the tree. But why the sudden influx into A.P.C? It is all aimed at destroying every embers of Imo State Governor Okorocha’s administration. How did they expect to reap from where they did not sow? These are people who did not initially believe in the ideology of the party and who have been greatly disappointed for the elusive return of money mandate politics epoch. Some of them are beneficiaries of political investment of Governor Rochas Okorocha who in turn decided to act like the proverbial bird “Nza” who after a healthy meal decided to challenge her “chi” in a duel. We beg that the prelate Archbishop A.J.V Obinna should take off his Sundays sermons from here.

Sound and Healthy minds quickly jettisoned their rumour victory because rumour is a tale no sooner than heard than it is told and those who told will add something new, and all who heard will make their own enlargements and above all it is blown by surmises, Jealousies and conjectures. But to my chagrin even the educated ones amongst them are afraid of giving objective and unbiased truth. To save man from the morass of propaganda, in my opinion is one of the chief aims of education. Education must enable one sift and weigh evidence, to discern the true from false, the real from unreal and the facts from fiction. Like I once said, you cannot entrust the education, lives, economy, hopes and aspiration of Imolites to these kind of people because they have reputation but they lack character. Reputation is what you are supposed to be, character is what you are. Reputation is the photograph; character is the face. Reputation is what you have when you come to a community; character is what you have when you go away. Reputation comes from without, character comes from within. Reputation is made in a moment, character is built in a life time. Reputation makes you rich or poor; character makes you happy or miserable. Reputation is what men say about you on your tombstone, character is what the angels say about you before the throne of God.

The picture which they have tried to paint is that Governor Rochas is on the begging side which warranted the literary impetus of the likes of Jimanze Ego-Alowes whose Thursday Menu  in Sun Newspaper is replete with communication noise as he relishes in Jaw-breaking words without knowing  that English language is supposed to be expressive and not impressive if at the end of the day the target audience cannot digest the import or essence of the message intended to be dished out to unsuspecting readers.

Apart from age, being the greatest asset of ugwumba, he read government and public administration which places him as a square peg in a square hole. The implication is that he will perform better than Governor Okorocha because here is where specialization comes to play. In likewise manner, Prof. Nnamdi Obiareri will perform better than senator uwajimogu as a professor of law in the senate for there is no doubt, he will advance better motions and bills that will touch the lives of the citizenry. Back in my University days, he taught me “Law of Contract” as a sophomore and “Law of Evidence” in my fourth year and I have implicit confidence in his power and mastery of delivery. This explains why successive administration did not fail to beam their search lights in giving him one appointment or the other to help shape their administration. A Yoruba adage says “a monkey and a gorilla may claim oneness but while a monkey is still a monkey, a gorilla remains a gorilla”.

But these events have actually exposed the double-headed snakes amidst the leadership of the party who have been hobnobbing with the oppositions who have now christened themselves as “Allied Forces”. As a leader in a Ward, L.G.A, State or National/federal level, one is supposed to be clad in white and should not be found gambling with those moving with stains.   Let this so called allied-forces be rest assured that as Sambalat and Tobiah could not stop Nehemiah from rebuilding the Temple of Jerusalem, they will also not succeed against Ugwumba’s movement. Make no mistake about this; Governor Okorocha has gained freedom from fear, tailored by any allied-forces. No doubt, the allied-forces will gather but because their gathering is not of the Lord, they must surely scatter, and the children of Jacob shall posses their possessions.
