The Owerri Zonal Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a businessman, Sir Bon Unachukwu has scored Imo governorship aspirants in PDP high for keeping the political atmosphere busy and working in synergy with party guidelines.

Speaking to journalists after Senator Sam Anyanwu’s declaration some couple of weeks back, Sir Unachukwu confirmed that more aspirants are going to declare for governorship race in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and according to him, it is the beauty of democracy or rather democracy in action. Sir Unachukwu went further to posit that all the Governorship aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party will be subjected to primary election, where the best will emerge. He stated that the era of imposition of candidate and impunity is no more in PDP and as such, those going for elective positions should work hard to get the mandate of the delegates during the primaries.

Sir Unachukwu assured that Owerri Zone PDP will give level playing ground for all the aspirants because he is one man who likes doing the right thing at the right time and that he is a man devoid of manipulations and intrigues. He opined that whosoever emerges as the as the governorship flag bearer of PDP will have less job to do because the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has done most of the campaigns for PDP by embarking on anti peoples government like banning of keke, destroying people’s property, destroying markets, non-payment of pensioners and workers, etc. According to him, the Peoples Democratic Party will take advantage of the punishment meted on Imolities by APC to win both Governorship election and other elective positions come 2019.
