His grace, Most Rev. Andrew. M. Ibemere JP, has condemned the recent quit order given to Igbos in the 19 State of the North by the Arewa Youths. Most Rev. Ibemere opined that such quit order if not ripped in the bud can cause the disintegration of Nigeria. He advised the federal government to do something urgently now to avoid unpleasant situation that will come out from such quit order.

Most Rev. Ibemere made his view know to newsmen who visited him recently. He went further to state that if Nigeria is tired of the marriage they entered into since 1914, the best thing to do is to call for a referendum so as to allow those who want to go, to go peacefully. He therefore advised the Igbos in the North to come home, to enable them watch the situation, so as not to be cut in the webs. if by the end of October 2017, nothing happens, they can go back to the North because it is only a tree that you will say I will cut you and it will remain unmoved. He therefore called on all Nigerians to learn how to be their brothers keepers and live harmoniously to avoid unnecessary heat.

Most Rev. Ibemere used the occasion of the press chat to talk on Owelle Okorocha’s admistration. He posited that Owelle Okorocha has done very well in both Economic and Infrastructural development. He further stated that Owelle Okorocha’s free Education is the best thing that ever happened to Imo State and prayed God to help Owelle Okorocha to continue to sustain it. He also thanked the Governor on his new Urban renewal project in the three Zones of the state. Most Rev. Ibemere is worried about who will step into the big shoes which Owelle Okorocha is going to leave behind come 2019. He therefore called on Governor Okorocha to pray very hard to be able to choose the best candidate.
