…Sen.Osita Izunaso remains Nat.Org.Secretary in APC NEC

The political camp of Gov.Rochas Okorocha have gone low following the decisions adopted at the National Executive Committee(NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress(APC) on Monday in Abuja

According to resolutions as unianimously adopted by the NEC empowers John Oyegu’s led National Working Committee(NWC) and others to remain in office for another one year in an event that no valid convention holds.

The decision may have since cancelled out the recent compilation of list of Party officers at the Ward, local Government, state and persons tipped as replacements for the National Organising Secretary,Senator Osita Izunaso and the the deputy National Woman Leader,Mrs Tina Adike.

The members of a group within the APC in Imo State and said to be loyal to Izunaso were seen celebrating Tuesday as according to them, the group has continued to win in the battle for supremacy with the ruling party.

In the days ahead, there are feelers that some within the Gov.Okorocha may begin to shift loyalty in a bid to remain relevant.

According to motion as moved by Davies Ibiamu-Ikanya, the chairman of APC in Rivers State, on the five-item resolution. And was seconded by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and adopted by NEC members,

The resolution in it’s item v states “If for reasons of inability to fulfill constitutional and or legal conditions requisite for the conduct of a valid elective congress or convention, then the party may as a last resort leverage on the NEC resolution of February 27, 2018 which in our view is lawful in the circumstances,”

Other items in the resolution include a “21 days statutory notice for the holding of elective congress and convention be given to INEC immediately,” it said.

“The current zoning formula for the party offices be retained,” item three of the resolution said.

Item four said “Requirements of the article 31(iii) be waived in line with the provisions of article 13.4 (xv) to avoid disruption in the management of party affairs at all levels.”

You may recall that earlier nod given to the current NWC members to continue was rejected by President Muhammudu Buhari who on February 27,2018 during the party’s NEC called for APC adherence to the rule of law.
