Kidnapped Imo Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Azubuike Regains Freedom

The kidnapped parish priest of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Obollo, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Azubuike has regained his freedom.

The priest was abducted along Alaiyi community in Obollo while on his way back home from an assignment on November 5, 2024.

However, the Chancellor and Secretary of the Catholic Diocese of Okigwe, Very Rev. Fr. Princewill Iwuanyanwu, in a statement confirmed that the priest was released in the early hours of Monday, November 11.

“I am directed to inform you that one of our priests, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Azubuike who was kidnapped on the evening of Tuesday, November 5, 2024, has been released,” the statement read.

“He was released in the early hours of Monday, November 11, 2024. While thanking you for your fervent prayers and show of love, I remain sincerely yours.”
